Professional Bio
Dr. Julia Wheaton has worked in the field of public education for over 30 years. Currently, Dr. Wheaton serves Consolidated High School District 230 in Orland Park which is a high school district of approximately 7500 students. Dr. Wheaton has served multiple school districts within both Will and South Cook counties as a school psychologist, special education administrator, junior high school principal, associate principal of instruction, associate principal of pupil personnel services, and principal of Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, IL. Dr. Wheaton received her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and Master of Science degree in School Psychology from Illinois State University, her Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration from Governors State University, and her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from Loyola University Chicago. In addition to her professional practice, Dr. Wheaton serves IASPA as the Professional Development Chairperson and teaches School Law & Policy and Special Education Law graduate classes at North Central College.
